What Do You Choose?

“If you aren’t living a life that would have got you burned in medieval Europe, are you even living?”

Maybe you’ve seen this quote floating around…

‘‘Beneath its humor is a deep, deep pain for all the women who weren't & still aren’t allowed to live peaceful lives as healers, spiritual leaders, or even just as ordinary women.’’

If you feel this pain too, or if you have been called to learn about ancient wisdom & healing, this is the deep work you are being called into.

For thousands of years in our lineages, a woman expressing her truth, sensuality, or intuition literally meant death.

Anything that was out of the “ordinary” was seen as bad and not accepted by society’s norm.

You could be accused by anyone and almost instantly have your rights and life taken away.

It didn’t take much for this to happen - unfortunately, speaking out our truth or living in our truth was something that was to be fearful of.

In the burning times, being an intelligent, empowered woman was a threat to your very survival — and this memory lives within the bodies & DNA of women today.

Did you know that the first known medieval European woman to be executed as a witch was a NUN?

Her name was Gerberga, and the year was 873.

Even religious women could be killed for being witches.

No woman was safe.

Let that sink in.

For hundreds of years after these times, feminine ancestors in your lineage carried this fear deep in their wombs, blood & bones.

Until you come along, to help heal your lineage.

Starting with the Witch Wound.

Today, women are reclaiming all the things that would have got them persecuted and killed – for living her life freely and independently, pursuing an education, speaking her mind, or having body sovereignty.

While our ancestors once faced persecution for their feminine power, those of us who are able to be free have the GIFT of offering our freedom as a healing for ourselves and the world.

Your ancestors once faced persecution for their spiritual power, but now you've free to be what they were called witches for.

Here’s what I’ve learned about the fear of speaking your truth, being judged, been seen as weird, or too “spiritual” or misunderstood:

Being vulnerable is always going to feel vulnerable, but it gets less scary as you become more attuned to your sense of self-trust.

It doesn’t necessarily get “easier” as time goes on, but your nervous system and spirit adjust and acclimate to new levels of vulnerability.

You come to learn, through embodied experience, that you’ve got yourself.

Your ancestors once faced persecution for their spiritual power, but now you've free to be what they were called witches for.

Over time, your deep devotion to your spiritual evolution feels more powerful than your fear.

Read that again.

You come to learn, through experience, that expressing your true self is always worth it.

On the topic of expressing your spiritual truth: You learn to discern when you are genuinely guided to share your spiritual expression and when it is the more authentic choice to hold something safe and sacred to your heart — withholding it not from fear, but from a place of wisdom and love.

And then discerning this, from when withholding your spiritual expression is actually a withholding of love… because your spiritual expression can be a catalyst for your healing & evolution, as well as the awakening of other as a result (but never as an expectation).

Over time, through learning tools and deeply holding ourselves, we heal the witch wound and regulate our nervous systems.

Safety is something that cannot be understood in the mind; it’s something to be felt by the body + nervous system.

Over the years, I’ve chosen to let myself be seen & heard — being vulnerable time and time again — and hold myself in the feelings that arise along the way.

Always opening at the speed of trust.

It’s not always an easy path to walk, but it can be done with pleasure, joy, and love… as a gift to yourself, your entire lineage, and the world.

So, speak your truth.

Not with reckless ferocity, but anchored to the truth of your soul.

As a pure gift of liberation.

As an expression of Truth and Love.

So which "witch" are you?

I choose to use my voice and express myself more easily and joyfully.

I reclaim my intuition, emotions, and sensitivity as my superpowers.

I use my healing hands and heart to help my loved ones and community.

I step into my unapologetic feminine power.

I step into my gifts and share them as an act of healing for myself and the world.

I won who I am with pleasure, free from self-judgment or shame.

I am a visionary with the strength and love to birth my vision into the world.

Claim the witch you are meant to be!
